There is a Lump in the Flank. Is it a Hernia or a Tumor? Is the Trauma Perforating?
In large dogs, a thickening of the caudal thoracic cage or in the flank can be missed until it is considerately large. The same can happens in the small dog with long fur. Once I have to indagate a patient with a lump, how can I choose the best diagnostic imaging modalities? How can I differentiate a tumor from a hernia or a lipoma or a sarcoma or an abscess? When radiology and ultrasound are enough and when CT is mandatory for the best approach and treatment for the patient? This lecture will try to give the relevant key to the proper answer to all of these questions.
