A bulk of the skin and ear diseases seen in veterinary practice have allergic triggers. It is important to remember that there are some non-allergic conditions that will mimic allergies. These conditions include some of the non-allergic inflammatory dermatoses, neoplasia, infectious or parasitic diseases and immune mediated diseases covered in this lecture.
